With the school year quickly approaching, it’s time to make the most of your summer weekends by attending some of Albuquerque’s coolest (and hottest) events. Here are a few things we’re checking out this weekend:
Get your dancing shoes on and attend the Ballet Pro Musica Festival this weekend at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Now in its sixth year, Ballet Pro Musica’s 2012 Summer Festival and The National Hispanic Cultural Center celebrate the music of Haydn, Ravel and Strauss in From Vienna With Love featuring a world premiere Suite Imperial by choreographer Yasmin Barragan. Joining principals and soloists from the National Ballet of Mexico will be La Catrina Quartet and pianist, Jacquelyn Helin. Tickets start at $30.
If you haven’t gotten enough dance this weekend, there’s always the 25th Anniversary of Dance Expose: Don’t Stop this weekend at the Sandia Prep Theatre. Even if you have two left feet, this concert will have you grabbing a dance partner and boogieing down. Tickets start at $15.
Check out what’s trending in the hottest salons in Albuquerque at the Be Cause For Change Hair and Fashion Show on Sunday, August 12 from 7–9 p.m. at Route 66 Casino Hotel. There will be an appearance by What Not To Wear host Nick Arrojo. Tickets are $25 at salon sponsor locations and go to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
