If Jonathan Wolfe, Ph.D., has his way, Albuquerque will be the fractal capital of the world. Wolfe, a neuroscientist, artist, and self-proclaimed “Fractal Guy,” is heading a revolution to make fractals accessible to Albuquerqueans. He visits schools and offices to explain fractal images. He projects fractals made by local students onto a downtown building wall. Wolfe’s message—which, like a fractal, is self-repeating—emphasizes the unique blend fractals provide: a mix of science, math and art.
